For over a decade, Susan Otim-Neal has worked with a diverse range of public and private organizations to improve performance and strengthen organizational effectiveness. She has worked for Fortune 500 companies in key management consulting roles in Finance and Human Resources. An intuitive and performance-focused workplace psychologist, leadership coach, and DEI champion, Susan partners with leaders of U.S. and multinational firms to map their business strategy to improved leadership, talent, and organizational effectiveness outcomes.  


A science-practitioner, Susan designs holistic leadership and organizational development interventions for corporate and nonprofit clients in the Metropolitan DC area and beyond. She collaborates with clients to increase their clarity, capacity, and skill, whether coaching leaders one-on-one to develop their emotional intelligence and executive presence; facilitating meaningful group interactions to enhance team performance; or designing change initiatives to strengthen diversity measures. Intrigued by, and highly skilled in identifying the unique qualities that distinguish one human being from another, Susan is gifted in figuring out how people who are different can work together productively. 


Susan expertly fortifies clients to encounter danger, bear pain, and withstand adversity. She facilitates restorative programs that cultivate both the leadership and wellness of professionals from historically marginalized groups. From entry level Management to the C-Suite, Susan has coached diverse women through complex problem solving and advancement in the workplace. She has supported emerging and experienced leaders at Healthcare, Technology, Finance, Government, and global Nonprofit organizations to traverse volatile, uncertain, and ambiguous environments, to include coaching change makers working in war zones. 


A frequent presenter on topics related to racial and gender equity, career advancement, and well-being, Susan has been featured as a guest Coach or speaker at diversity leadership conferences, universities, and religious and community organizations. She has a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a bachelor’s in Finance from George Mason University where she was also a Captain of the Women’s Basketball team.


An ICF credentialed Coach, and certified Integral Coach® and Integral Team Coach through the New Ventures West coaching program, Susan holds certifications in emotional intelligence, diversity, equity & inclusion, group process design and facilitation, and various assessment instruments. Susan coaches to the human and organizational soul, supporting clients to bring their whole selves to life, and their best selves to work. She has been an active member of numerous professional associations and community organizations to include Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), Institute of Coaching (IOC), and International Coaching Federation (ICF), and currently lives in Maryland with her husband and their young son.
